Therapeutic Counsellor

Due to an expansion of our therapeutic services, we are looking to appoint a self employed therapeutic counsellor to add to our team of qualified and experienced counsellors and consultant therapists. For the right candidate this could increase to an employed position.

Salary starts from £18 per hour and will increase depending on experience and qualifications.

You must have a passion for working with children, young people and families and preferably have experience of working within a school environment. Opportunities for additional hours may be available.

Successful applicants must be qualified to a minimum Level 5 counselling or equivalent and be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organised. Applicants must be a member of a professional body, e.g., BACP and will be either accredited or working towards accreditation.

It is desirable that you have experience and knowledge of trauma and attachment.

A commitment to safeguarding, strength-based practice and equality are essential. Applicants will demonstrate the ability to engage with children, young people and families and professionals as well as have a good understanding of Children’s Attachment Issues and how this can impact upon their emotional well-being. You must be able to use a range of evidence based theoretical interventions to make a difference.

Successful applicants will be required to attend an interview, undertake an enhanced DBS check, and provide a minimum of two satisfactory references.
